Prenatal and Baby Massage

Prenatal Massage

Pregnancy often involves many physical and psychological challenges for pregnant women. The role of the massotherapist is to accompany them through the different stages of their pregnancy with an adapted therapy approach, known to reduce pain and increase energy level. The Vitalité team includes Registered Massage Therapists, specialized in prenatal massotherapy treatments. A regular follow-up (from the start of the 2nd trimester) will allow you to benefit from optimal flexibility and mobility of movement. To allow women to feel the greatest comfort, we use the “BODY CUSHION”, allowing you to position yourself on your belly without putting pressure on the baby.

Baby Massage

Touch is one of the principal means of communication with your baby; it is a vital need, ensuring its development. A study by Dr. Field (director of the Touch Research Institute) showed that premature infants who received 15 minutes of manual therapy gained weight faster than the premature ones who did not. This study helped the scientific researches around massage therapy to understand the importance of this sense in the human development. By promoting sleep and growth, massotherapy is known to strengthen the newborn’s immune system as well as its feeling of security. Other studies point out that some techniques can help reduce colic and relieve nasal congestion, while providing a calm experience.

Invited by the CHU Sainte-Justine management to participate in conferences and to offer massages to newborn babies, our team is proud to help families benefit from the many advantages of baby massages.

At Vitalité, you can assist workshops where you will learn simple and effective techniques that can be practiced every day on your baby. The ideal age to start is between 2 to 4 months: when your infant’s body loses his foetal reflexes. Massaging your infant is by far, one of the best tools to promote a bonding attachment.

It is a beautiful experience to share as a family!
